How it works
As we age, collagen layers, the supporting structures of our skin, gradually break down, forming wrinkles and lines. Forma uses the radiofrequency (RF) technology that stimulates the collagen production and induces skin contraction through the full depth of our skin, offering, that way, collagen remodeling and tightening. Based on the patented A.C.E. (Acquire, Control, Extend) technology, RF energy targets the deeper layers of the skin and, thanks to the built-in temperature gauge, there is total control of the process ensuring that no area is under- or over-treated. This provides optimal results with maximum safety. During the process, radio frequency penetrates deep into the skin, generating heat. Due to this subcutaneous heating, our skin collagen increases and remodels into a new functional structure. Therefore, the RF technology of Forma allows the collagen fibers to restructure into lines with greater consistency, eliminating, that way, lines and wrinkles, and enhancing the skin texture. Of note, in contrast to laser devices, as Forma does not use any light or laser modalities, it is suitable for any skin type.
How many sessions will I need?
Collagen production and skin remodelling is an ongoing process, Forma treatments are vital to be performed with sessions. Depending on the target area, the extent of our problem and the desired results, there might be a need of 6-8 treatments in total. As the collagen degradation is inevitable by nature, it is good to follow a maintenance program after the initial sessions in order to preserve our long-term results.
What is the process?
Forma can be used on multiple areas of the body and face. For the face and neck, each treatment does not exceed 45 minutes, while the body sessions last about 30-60 minutes. The medical aesthetician applies an ultrasound gel to the target areas and glides the Forma head in small, intense movements over those areas until the proper temperature is reached. During the treatment, there is no pain. We can relax and feel just a warm heat, as the treatment head moves all over the treated area. Just like having a hot stone massage. Forma treatments can also be combined with additional therapies.
Is there any downtime?
There is no downtime. Right after the treatment, the skin may be slightly flushed in the treated area that goes away within a few hours, and we can return to our everyday activities immediately after the session.
What results should I expect?
There is an ongoing improvement in the appearance and elasticity of the skin with each visit. Over time there is a remarkable reduction in the folds and wrinkles while sagging skin appears more toned and lifted, offering a more contoured, smooth look.
